How Have Sales Been?
I’ve been chatting a lot with some author friends about marketing and its contribution to sales. Instagram is a very different landscape than it was even two years ago, and it feels a bit hopeless. But I’m hopeful with the upcoming Kickstarter I’ll be able to garner enough interest to keep things going with this trilogy. Speaking of Kickstarter…
Have you seen my first endpaper? This one is going into the back of the Limited Editions of Daughter of the Sun. My artist is working on the second image (for the front) now which will be a scene from Solyana’s storyline.
Why should you follow a Kickstarter pre-launch page? I’m so glad you asked. Much like the Lord’s return no one knows the day or the hour this bad boy is launching (not even me). So, if you want to make sure to get those early bird deals and limited book boxes—this is how you do it. Plus, if you download the app all the information is ripe for the taking. (And then you can find some other sweet books on Kickstarter! In fact, I have some linked at the end of this post.)
I’m considering doing a post about Kickstarter and how it works, would that be helpful for anyone?
Son of the Stars Timeline:
Currently SOTS sits with my editor being pulled apart only to be pieced back together once I get my hands on it in a few weeks. (Maybe beginning of December?)
Cover design set to begin in December
My proofread is scheduled for January so hoping to get all revisions done by the first week of 1/2025
ARCS! I have decided I will do a few ARCS but they will be severely limited. I’ll do a call for those (or hand pick them) next month.
Kickstarter should launch in March
Books should go out by May
Son of the Stars (hopeful) publication month will be June??? (all the question marks because we never know!)
I would love to have my audiobook narrators booked out for the spring as well but that is one area I need Kickstarter for. Alas, we wait on funding.
What Am I Working on Now?
I have a secret project I’m writing and a manuscript critique I’m working on. Both are taking up all my extra time and I’m enjoying both of them! I’ll be able to reveal a bit more about this secret project in the new year.
